2009-11-24 2010 Soccer World Cup and Day Visitors to Kruger National Park
Berg and Dal, Skukuza and Pretoriuskop Restcamps in Kruger has been exclusively allocated for foreign visitors to The Kruger National Park for the period 6 June 2010 to 13 July 2010. This and the general influx of visitors due to the Soccer World Cup is going to cause accommodation in and around The Kruger National Park during the Soccer World Cup period to be very scarce.
New gates being constructed at Phabeni and Crocodile Bridge suggest that the parks plan to allow more than usual the number of visitors during the Soccer World Cup. From information gathered the new gates are going to be just about as quick as Toll gates with Wild Card holders only required to swipe their Wild Cards. This will help a lot after the Soccer World Cup as well when traffic jams over long weekends and on public holidays will become a thing of the past.
Apparrently the booking system for Day Visitors to Kruger is working again. It was supended and changed to a first come first served bases when IT system changes were implemented. Only time will tell what is going to happen next.
